in my 2004 chevy trailblazer i pulled in a parking spot and shifted it to park. The gear shifter went up to park but the indicator on the dashboard still showed it in drive. Now the shifter won't move, and it won't start. It was rolling,as if in neutral, so i had to put on emergency brake..

suggestions?

 

That happened to my 03 Trailblazer many years ago. The cable broke off where it connects to the transmission lever. Rather than buying a new one, I drilled out the lever and used a shoulder bolt to reconnect them and it worked perfectly.
