It was almost like the old AAMCO TV ad...
I was driving along and suddenly the engine is pulling 6 grand on the tach. I got it off the road and there's no gears available. When dropped into first gear, I feel it engage, but as soon as I press the gas, there's nothing. I pulled the dipstick and there's tiny bits of metal on it and almost no fluid. Rebuild or replace? The costs aren't much different either way. While searching for info, I came across Monster Transmissions, are they worth while?
