Blower motor not working on speed 5 on 2002 Trailblazer
Posting my solution:
I have a 2002 Trailblazer and the a/c blower does not work on speed 5. Speeds 1 - 4 work normal. It appears from previous posts that the blower motor resistor assembly is a common failure problem, which is what I found. The attached schematic was helpful in troubleshooting.
The blower motor resistor assembly is easy to replace and is located under the glove box. Remove the kick panel under the glove box using a 7 MM nut-driver. Theassembly can be seen looking up to the a/c duct work. Remove the two screws that attach the assembly using a 7/32" nut-driver and then disconnect the two connectors. I replaced the old one with an aftermarket assembly Standard RU377.
