Default A/C & fan acting weird!

I have 2004 Trailblazer. A/C only works in Defrost mode. Also, when fan is "on" is goes off temporarily when I hit a bump. Not long ago, all began working correctly, but then radio went off, clock had to be reset. Now it's back to Defrost mode only and fan working weirdly. Huh???

With the engine running AC blower motor on high and other accessories / lights on, check power of the fuses in the fuse block under the left rear seat, if some have low voltage it is likely you have a bad ign switch.

Default A/C problems - more questions to Bern

Thanks for your response. I'm confused. How is a bad ignition switch related to the A/C and fan (and I forgot to mention the Cruise Control was temperamental at the same time but now it's back to "normal.")

The power for the AC / blower motor goes though the Ignition switch. this is why the AC doesn't operate with the ignition switch off.

this is one possible cause : The dealer service department can test for this . #PIT3832D: ABS Red Brake SVC And 4WD Light On HVAC Blower Inoperative - keywords B1375 C0379 DTC HI2 HI4 ignition IPC L04 MIL on U1000 U1041 - (Jan 7, 2009)
