I just replaced the carpet in my 2007 SS TB and in the middle of removing the carpet, I had to move the gear shifter. After removing the carpet, I put the gear shifter back to park position. Now the ignition want go to the off position. I can start it and turn the engine off. I tried stating it, no problem. Tried turning it off with the brake depressed, & tried shifting from park to reverse. Neither of the two worked. Right now I'm going to check all my wiring harnesses & verify their connection.

Any Help Would be greatly appreciated!!!!

 

I tried starting the Trailblazer this morning, but it won't start. The shifter is stuck and the release button won't depress. Also, the ignition key won't rotate into the locked position, regardless of what position the steering wheel is in; I'm talking tilt position and turning the wheel from stop to stop.

I also have a dead battery, so I'm dealing with multiple problems.

I checked fuses under the hood and back seat but all appear to be in good condition, none blown. I also rocked it forward and backward to see if that would help with the shifter, but nada.

The vehicle sat for a couple of days, but that's it.

Has anyone else run into this stuck shifter problem?

the dead battery is why you cant move the shifter or take out your key.
