Electrical Problem?

I have a 2002 TB with 80K miles. Recently, all of theinstrument panellights started coming onsimultaneouslyand when they do, the gauges stop working. When they go out, the gauges work again. The speedometer/Tach are not affected. The AC goes out as well when the dash lights come on. I've replaced the battery a couple times over a two year period.
Occasionally, when I enter the vehicle, the interior lights do not come on. But, it starts just fine. The panel lights come on and off throughout my drive. It does seem to be getting worse or happening more frequently.
Any ideas?

You live in an area with alot of salted roads?
try this website.. alot ofTrailblazer members there who have probably seen your problem. I have not experienced such a scenario.

Thanks. How does one make sure the car is grounded properly? Without taking it a repair shop? No salt roads here. I am checking the TrailVoy website too.

ive seen post from other owners where the salts corrode grounds- and cause problems.
I saw one owner add a few grounds of his own and he reported that engine idle smoothed out.
But since you dont have road salts......hmmmm

I saw many others with the same problem on TrailVoy. One mentioned a bad ground on the HID's. What is HID? I did see a couple wires coming from the battery and attached to the chassis. They seemed tight.

Its probably the ground splice under the carpet, just forward of the console.
There is a TSB for that Bulletin No.: 04-08-45-010
The ground splice pack G201 (aka SP201?) located on the right side of the front console area.
You have to remove the center floor console, the panel in front of it, then remove the carpeting that covers the instrument panel cluster wiring.
Remove the ground bolt, clean with a wire brush, and reconnect everything.
I hope it works out for you!

Well, turns out it was a loose wire behind the dash. The aftermarket radio was installed five years ago and something came undone. Oh well...
