I need a lil help. I have a 03 trailblazer and when I use my high beams motor engine dies and will not start until I turn them off and my passenger side burns bright but the left is very very dim and it is the opposite on dim. I basically use the day running lights to drive so it wont get me stranded. Anything helps.

 

My 68 El Camino had a short in the brights switch (remember the floor switch for brights) and when switched to low the motor would immediately stop, like turning off the key. 1st time it happened my wife was driving. I told her she was silly to think the brights button could turn off the car, but of course she was right like usual. Yours is much newer and has a column switch, but I'll bet you a cold one it's the same basic problem and a new switch will be the fix.
