Default Front right axle

I have a 2006 Trailblazer base 4.2L. I was changing my front brake pads the other day and I was spinning the rotor while the tire was off and I can hear a clicking sound coming from the joint of the axle, almost like a ratchet. I don't hear the clicking while driving though. Should I be concerned about that clicking noise? Is it supposed to click since this is a 4x4? There is no grease leaking from any boots on the axle.

Should not be clicking. Likely have hub going south.

But the clicking sounds like it’s coming from the axle joint and not the hub

CV axles usually click, wheel hub/bearings usually make more of a grinding or whining sound. Could be that axle starting to go bad. You're sure it's not the rotor hitting anything?

I know this is old but I wanted to update, no the rotor isnt hitting anything. It doesn't click when driving though. It does shake when I'm stopping especially if I'm coming downhill. I think my rotor could be warped or my struts are bad.
