Default gear box not reaction

hello gentlemen and ladies, probably this is the wrong section because my car is much older but I don't see the appropriate section, so I apologize in advance I don't know if I can but I have a question. I have a Chevrolet trialblazer 4.2 petrol from 2001 and it recently came home on a tow truck. a very strange situation. I drove up to the station to refuel, refueled, drove off to the parking lot from the distributor, turned on P on the gearbox without turning off the car, went to smoke. After a cigarette, I get in the car and put it in gear. what happened? the jack of the box walked without any resistance. no matter what gear I turned on, the indicator on the display did not move from P to any other position and the car did not go. fault of the sensor or solenoid?? how to check ??
thanks for the advice

Sounds like a broken bushing where the shift cable connects to the shifter on transmission. A very common occurrence. You can use Dorman 14055 to repair this problem.

Good Luck!
