How do you read ABS code 2003 Trailblazer

How do you read the codes for the ABS light on 2003 Trailblazer? I have a hand held scanner for check engine light codes. Do the ABS light codes get pulled the same way, or is there a different scanner for checking ABS issues.

I heard that the ABS codes require the Dealer techscan...
Maybe brake shops also have a similar tool?

snap-on scanners or similar should be able to pull all codes from all modules in the vehicle.
The hand-helds only check for engine codes
