Default Keyless entry & rear gate

I have a 2005 trailblazer and both my keyless entry key fobs no longer work. I also noticed my rear gate and window won't unlock. The side doors will unlock by manually pressing the unlock button on the drivers door. However the rear gate and window won't unlock no matter what.

Anyone have any idea what this could be. I first thought key fob batteries but I doubt both would go bad at the same time. I tried holding the lock and unlock buttons to reset and got nothing.

check the license plate lights... if they dont turn on theres a bad ground wich the keyless entry module also uses back there

crawl in from back seat... towards the bottom is the gate there is a plastic plug..
remove it. stick screwdriver in there and tailgate opens.
