had the hard turning right on my 02 chevy 1500 4x4. replaced the gear box and the problem was solved. it was surprisingly easy to replace. it acted like there was no power assist when turning left if you didnt have the truck rolling. the guy i got it from said he hit a snow bank and it grabbed the tire and stopped the truck sideways in the road and after that it had that problem.
