PCV SYSTEM
I have a 2002 trailblazer LTZ, and i have a question regarding the pcv sys. The first question does it have one? because I can't find one. My engine was blowing oil all over the enging compartment, draining approximately 3 to 4 quarts of oil before I found it.I was told to check my PCV hose for freezing, which would cause too much pressure, causing oil to blow out. Has anyone heard of this happening?
From the service manual:
Crankcase Ventilation System Description
A closed crankcase ventilation system is used in order to provide a more complete scavenging of crankcase vapors. Fresh air from the throttle body is supplied to the crankcase, mixed with blow-by gases, and then passed through a crankcase ventilation pipe/passage into the intake manifold.
Results of Incorrect Operation
A plugged PCV Pipe/passage way may cause:
[*]Rough idle[*]Stalling or slow idle speed[*]Oil leaks[*]Sludge in engine [/ul]
