Does anyone know how much weight the factory roof racks will hold? I want to mount a Thule box directly onto the crossbars. Thanks.

 

The manual that came with my 2005 Trailblazer says the capacity of the Luggage carrier is 220 pounds. That should readily handle a Thule box. Check the Thule website to see if you any need additional components. Many of the newer Thule boxes will mount directly to factory installed racks.

Note: I looked in the index under "roof" thinking it was a roof rack but found no entry. Took a lot of searching around before I discovered it's called a Luggage Carrier.

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could purchase the chevy tahoe Z71 roof rack or if any other roof rack would work for my tahoe? I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe LZ, i think is the model.
