Default 2009 Traverse Engine Replacement

I bought this traverse knowing it had issues bought it pretty cheap so it doesn’t matter. Anyways the motor is now blown, I need another motor so I can fix it and sale it, Are there any other traverse year models, other vehicle models that are compatible??? I haven’t found any motors for that specific year and I’m running out of places to look even eBay. Any helpful info would be appreciated.

Default 09 Traverse Engine Replacement

I'm in the same boat right now. I purchased an 09 Traverse LT2 3.6l, the guy told me he replaced the engine after timing failure and turns out he scammed me. Now I'm out 5k and looking at alternatives such as eating the cost of an engine replacement and possibly flipping the truck or even just keeping it. It is loaded and incredibly clean inside but I can't drive something unless it's dependable. This vehicle also shares the same engine as the GMC Acadia; there's the possibility of finding a totaled Traverse or Acadia and using that as the donor motor, otherwise it looks like we're left with searing for a used or rebuild 3.6 that won't completely drain the pockets. I would like to add if you find something, make sure it has a warranty. Although it may be remanufatured these engines have a history of crank case ventilation issues leading to premature timing failure. It's also worth mentioning that oilchanges should be done sooner rather than later to avoid any chance of repeat engine failure. Lmk if you find an engine tho, I've been searching for the past few days but ill probably have to wait for it to warm up outside before I can even begin to the swap.
