2010 Chevy traverse stuck in neutral
Driving into town today my friend shifted my car into neutral while my foot was on the pedal, I switched it back into drive, Upon getting to the next red stop light I stopped and waited, light turned green went to go but my car stuttered and shook then the engine just reved up. I did not budge. Only a Reving engine. I put car in neutral, back into drive still nothing. I then put car in park and heard constant ticking noises coming from engine. Get car home put car in park but if you push car it still rolls while in park. Only the Emergency break keeps car stopped. Leading me to believe car is stuck in neutral.
Has anyone experienced this? If so is this possibly covered under Chevys lifetime power train and transmission warranty? What could be causing this? Is there a Chevy recall for throwing a car into neutral while driving?

This happened to me once, but not while driving. In my case it was the cable from the shifter came off at the transmission. The end of the cable had the hole enlarged and would not reconnect and stay connected. rather than replace the cable, I drilled out the stud and used a shoulder bolt for a permanent connection.
