Chevy Traverse 2011 | 15 minutes Delayed Transmission Engagement
Hi
I am new to this forum.
I own Chevy Traverse 2011 with 110k miles. I am experiencing a strange issue with transmission.
After overnight parking (say 8-10 hours), after cold start, the reverse engages immediately, however, the forward (D) fails to engage. It takes about 15 minutes of engine idling that the forward (D) engages finally. I have tried to put it into 1st gear but that did not help either.
Once it engages then it runs fine and I can drive around.
I took it to few mechanics and they say it is better to get a second hand transmission rather than an overhaul as the overhaul will not have greater success chance. The ODB scanner did not show any error codes.
Anyone has had similar issue?
P.S. I am currently living in Saudi Arabia and the weather whole year is warm or hot which may be relevant.
