New Traverse losing coolant when NOT using Dex-Cool (?)
Hey guys and gals -
I just got a 2013 Traverse. Great car. It was a little low on coolant when I got it, so I added some Universal (mix with any color) 50/50 mix. After driving for a few days, I noticed it was back down to the original level - with only the original, red-colored coolant remaining (I am guessing this is Dex-Cool). Repeat, the same thing happens again.
Does anyone know if modern GM SUVS *must* have Dex-Cool ? Very strange, there are no leaks that I can tell, it also only has 34K miles on it.
Thanks in advance!!!

According to GM yes. Most new GM vehicles have a aluminum radiators. The Dex-Cool is only for aluminum radiators. But it may seem like you have a leak somehwhere`s.Try and change out your radiator cap first. If this leaks, it will vaporize you won`t know it or see it.
