I have a similar problem with my 2007 suburban. Dealership said it would be over $300 to pull the dash and try to solve the problem.

Most likely the speakers themselves, replace them. The chimes run thru the speakers. I had to replace all four in my 08 Ascender.

A loose connection somewhere. Check all the wiring to the back of the radio.
