I am looking at buying a 2012 traverse to haul my trailer. I was just looking over the manual and discovered it may only haul 2000 lbs I need 4500 lbs. The vehicle has a heavy duty coolant and a factory installed hitch - am i able to haul 4500 lbs

 

My 2012 has the towing package, I think it is rated up to 4000 pounds as I recall, but IMHO the 3.3 liter 6 is sorta small. Still I haul a pop up around with it for a few years now.

i would check the owners manual. the max trailer weight for all builds will be listed. Identify your build and refer to the manual.

towing is severe service so follow the appropriate maintenance schedule.

 

It sounds like you have the tow package which allows 5200 lbs . This depends on how much extra weight you are carrying in the vehicle .It's 2000 lbs if you do not have the tow package.
