tow package details
Can someone tell me specifically what is included with the V92 Towing Package option? I recently bought a 2009 Traverse WITHOUT this option because the dealer assured me that all it was was the hitch and wiring harness, which I had done aftermarket. Now, in reading the manual, it states that WITHOUT the V92 option, the towing capacity is only 2000 lbs, rather than the 5200 I thought I was buying. The manual also mentions a "tow/haul" button on the instrument panel that I do not have, but I can't see if that comes with V92.
When I went back to the dealership, the head mechanic assured me that the cooling systems were the same and that I was ok.
Can someone help clarify?

I changed the radiator for the heavy duty radiator. Its about a 1/4 inch thicker but fits. Cost: $206, 5 hour job by myself. Some dealers wanted $300 for radiator, $500 for labor to install.
I also installed the tow switch. Pop off the center console trim starting at the box work forward toward switches. Then the trim around the air controls, stereo, etc. The switch is held in by 2 Phillips screws. One plug. Plug in new switch and put back together. 15 minute job, part cost $27.97, trailer light comes on. I also installed the hitch (6000 lb, 600 lb tongue weight cap.) 30 minutes by myself. The camper dealer provided and installed the trailer brake and 7 pin wiring kit (no charge). No fuse box, just an inline 40 amp fuse. They also gave us an 8000 lb weight distribution system with everything including anti sway bar.
I have towed our 4000 lb/ 380 lb tongue weight camper with it just fine. I am strongly considering installing a heavy duty trans cooler before our trip to Arizona from Dallas.
**The radiators have an oil cooler inside them on the drivers side. Be sure to only remove one aluminum 3/4 inch plug at a time when installing the new radiators oil lines. Also, transfer the big rubber grommets on bottom of old radiator to the new one.
Look up GMPARTSCLUB.COM for part numbers.
I also watched "Changing the grille on a 2011 chevy traverse" on youtube to see how to take the front bumper assembly off to access the radiator/fans/AC condensor and trans cooler.
Good luck!
