Default Traverse vs Highlander

New Canadian user here, hello all!

I'm going to be test driving a Traverse and a Toyota Highlander today as I've narrowed my search down to these two models based on my needs.

Any advice on what to look for during the test drive, and any thoughts on what might convince me on the Traverse vs the Highlander? Recommendations on trim level, options to go for and options to avoid, negotiating tips and/or current incentives that GM/GMAC are offering? Is buyig new a must?

Any advice and/or opinions are welcome!

CGY

if you plan on carrying 5 or 7 or 8 passengers
you need to check out the size of toyotas seats...
double check you can sit people where you want them.

heres a hint to what they consider a seat...

Traverse all the way,the Highlander only has one advantage: resale value because the brand is well perceived. The best for my wants and needs would be the Pilot. Perhaps the most unattractive of the four, yet it's AWD system, with lockable rear differential, makes it the most useful for my lifestyle.
