Hi, My daughter lost one of the 2 car keys for our Trax .. I am not ruling out she will lose the remaining one and our model actually has you put a cut key in the ignition. I have worked with my dealer to get a replacement and we are on the 4th attempt for them to cut the replacement key. I have purchased the key from them but they cannot seem to cut if so that it will work and they have tried at 2 of their dealerships to rule out their machine. How can I get a replacement key and deal directly with GM? Is it possible to get a key? GM is so big and always seem to push back to a dealer.

 

Welcome from Florida. There are large key shops tht specialize in car keys. They can cut the key at a much cheaper price. It will also need to be programmed to work.

we have a 2025 trax that came with only 1 key fob. We bought a new one on amazon. Then we found a locksmith to cut and program it. Key $20. Program and key cut $175. We went thru AAAAA locksmith. Good luck
