How do you check a evap cansiter and vent valve ?
Hey new to the site. I have a check engine light on with throwing the P0455 and p0449 codes. I have ran jumper wires from the purge solenoid under the hood and it clicks so I'm assuming it is fine. From what I've read on here the cansiter and vent valve are above the gas tank is that correct ? Also, I have topped off my wifes van acouple times during long trips so I was wondering how you check to see if your canister is bad ? By a strong odor of fuel ? Is there a way to clean it or does it just get replaced ? Also how do you check your vent valve ? Can you jump it the same way as the purge ? And finnaly do you have to drop the whole tank to get to the valve and canister or just the one side ? Thanks for the help sorry if I missed a post that covers this already I have looked and couldn't find anything specific on these questions. Thanks Tim
