Whre should I take my Uplander for a leaking tire and not cost me an arm and leg. Pretty shure the GM dealer or Canadian Tire would push me to buy at least 2 new tires and won't want to do any repair.
The odometer reads 78,000KM so I would say the tires should still be good to go for another couple of years (the car is 2009 model).

Any local repair shop should be able to repair it for you at a reasonable price. Around here the least I've ever paid was $10 and the most was $35. depends on whether they can just plug it or if they need to take it off the rim and patch it.

 

If these are original tires, they are at least 4 years old, plus no vehicle manufacturer will put anything but cheap (unless specified) on them including wiper blades ect. If you have close to 50K miles, you might be forced to replace them. Depending on the tread, I can't see it, but assume it is thin, I'd recommend having it patched as plugging it will only last a short time based on my assumption of the tires condition.

 

With 78 000km on the OEM tires; they are probably worn out. Anything less than 5/32" should not be used for winter driving.

Canadian tire would be a good place to go. If it has a nail make sure the tire is demounted and a plug/patch is install from the inside. Do not get a cheap tire plug that is installed from the outside...that 20year old tire repair technology should not be used.

 

I took the car to "Tire Depot" in Vaughn Saturday at noon. Half an our and I was out with the repair done:Tire Depot | Toronto, GTA, York Region, Thornhill, Ontario It cost 29.95 plus tax. Good job. No leaking so far. They said it's been a nail and they patched the tire throug the inside.

 

that is a reasonable price.

When repaired the other way the speed rating of the tire is lost and 20% of the time it will fail.
