I have a 2001 silverado 4.8L and getting a P0445 code. I found that the purge control valve was broken and that someone disconnected the wiring plug to it. Further the place where the vent hose connects to was broken off. I replaced the valve solenoid which was easy, however I discovered that the hose that leads back to the charcoal cannister was not connected to anything. It is very difficult to access where this connects, but I am trying to figure out if the end of this plastic hose connects to the metal line with some special connector or how it attaches. It looks like the hard plastic line just broke off right where it connects to the aluminum line that goes back to the fuel tank.
