Radio upgrade?
I have a 08 Uplander LT,and having a little problem with the 3.5mm jack, when the mp3 players / phones ,etc, are connected, it sounds like its a bad connection, lack of bass and echoy.
Tried cleaning it but it didn't help.
Next train of thought was to just replace the factory fitted radio, but then started reading stuff about if i do it may cause problems and may looses functions, also in order to retain my vehicle's warning chimes, i have to use a factory integration adapter?
My vehicle, doesn't have on star or any volume controls on the steering wheel, and i don't want to add any amp's or anything, just replace the radio.
Just wondering what options i have here ( or should i just leave it alone) or that what i've read is not correct.
Thanks

They are without a doubt the most knowledgable I've ever dealt with...I have outfitted more than one car with their help with stuff from them. Prices are competitive and service second to none. Every purchase comes with their installation instructions - they are the best!
Looks like there is an integration adapter to keep our chimes/onstar/etc...I'm sure they will fill you in on the details.

I did replace my radio with a double din with bluetooth usb jack and the chimes adapter. The advice about crutchfield is spot on, they have all the stuff but don't forget your local Kijiji. I got the adapter from a guy on Kijiji, he bought the wrong one. But the Radio and install kit is from Crutchfield, and it looks great, but best of all if someone phones I just touch the button on the radio and Viola hands free no messing with a phone, just push and talk. The chimes adapter takes about a half hour to solder the wires and put on the shrink tubing but you can do it at your workbench and the wiring is easy, surprise suprise the wires are colour coded the same. The only bad thing, your kids will hop in select bluetooth and start playing that noise from their Iphone, when you have already selected The Bridge on satellite.
My total cost was less than $200 and well worth it.

Also keep in mind that even if you don't buy the radio from them they will still be happy to sell you the correct installation kit and adapters and such as well as their instructions. I had a radio that someone gave me for free and I gave them the model # and they sold me the installation kit for it. Fit perfectly with their kit. But since they have such a great selection you might do well getting everything from them.
Good Luck - let us know what radio you decide to get and post a pic of your work after you install it!
