Default Rear Wipers Problem

Hi,

I've taken our Uplander 2008 car today to the car wash. After getting the car washed, then the rear wiper started working by itself, although the rear wiper switch was off as it was when I drove it to the car wash. I tried to switch it on and off several times, as well I tried different buttons and switches for the lights, turn signals, etc. but nothing seems stopping it.

Is there anyone who faced this problem, or may know what could it be?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Hi Brainx3,

You may want to head into your local GM dealership to have this inspected. If you'd like to send us your VIN, mileage, and contact info we'd be happy to connect you with a team in your area for further assistance.

Thanks, Amber. I'm located in Sweden I'm trying to narrow down the cause of the problem, so I'd start with ordering the parts needed.

Thanks again. I'll wait to hear from other members who may have had the same problem, before I go to the dealer.

Default Update

Thought of updating the thread. This morning after leaving the car parked in the garage at night, I started it and the rear wiper was working as normal. It seems that some how at the car wash yesterday, the rear wiper's wiring/harness may have gotten wet or humid, and the wet contacts switched it on.

It's good for other owners to be cautious when washing the rear. Didn't need anything to get it fixed

Great that you followed up! Sometimes I feel like I'm reading a murder mystery when someone doesn't post the resolution to the problem that they asked about...
