Default Swapping from 6 lug to 5 lug?

This might sound strange but I'm considering swapping the 6 lug setup to a 5 lug for a better selection of aftermarket wheels. I'm not worried about rotors because decent aftermarket rotors have no issues like the undersized factory units.

Anyone know offhand what's involved with this van? I know nothing about GMs and won't have time to check it out for another few weeks. Just in case anyone has any info....

Thanks

It may be as simple as swapping out the 6 bolt hub/bearing assemblies for 5 bolt assemblies.
Check out Hub and Bearing Warehouse Home Page for prices. Those bearing/hub assemblies are easily removed and replaced, just be sure that your replacements have the correct speed sensors on them.
A wrecking yard may be a good place to see what all is involved. Keep us posted.

Cool thanks for the link....My '08 Cargo came with hubcap 6 lug 17s and I haven't found any of the 17" alloys at any salvage yards (local or online) and I'm not paying what companies are asking for OEM wheels.

A larger wheel would look better (to me) but being a work vehicle, I don't want to have to buy really expensive tires for larger wheels, or blowing out the tires due to a smaller sidewall. Stock is already fairly short for a minivan. We'll see....
