Cool Trouble staying started

Hi, having trouble getting my 06 uplander 86,000 mi to stay running right after I start it. it starts, then dies if I don't tap the gas a little. After that it runs fine. Does not stall after I tap the gas, no codes.

It started out as an every once in a while thing. Over the past 6 - 8 months it has become an every time I try to start it thing.

Any ideas where to start would be appreciated.

Greg

I find it hard to believe that an engine won't run and there is no code.

I know this is little late but I just purchased an 05 uplander on tuesday and its doing the exact same thing.. No codes showing.. the dealer I bought it from wants to replace the air flow sensor but after reading some other forums I found that taking off the throttle body and cleaning it cured the stalling problem completely. Hope this helps.

Default Trouble staying Started

I have had this problem as well. It usually only happends after the vehicle has been driven a few miles.. One would think that maybe it was vapor locking but i have taken cap off and that did solve the prob. There is no Codes.. Im not wondering if there is an issue with the computer.. Maybe they need to be updated or something.. The only way to get it started is to either keep cycling the key or tap on the fuel pedal as mentioned

Any one have any Idea what the issue is??

Hi Did you ever fix the problem? To me it sounds a fuel system problem like a fuel pump maybe blocked fuel line what ever. You said you had to give it gas to keep it running which to me sounds like its not getting enough fuel

Hi, I did like jdiebolt1 said, and cleaned it up, and starts fine with no problems. My mileage increased too. Thanks for your help.
