So I've had a set of Sony Xplode speakers for almost a year now as my brother promised me he'd put them in for me. I finally had enough today and opened the driver side door, gained access to the speaker and unclipped it.

However, the weird part is that there is a black speaker holder that the speaker just clips in and out of and obvioulsy the new Sony Xplode speaker isn't going to fit into the holder.

Do I need to remove the holder? It's hooked onto something else mid door also... so I can't imagine getting rid of that peice.

I'm real confused now... the good news is that I put the door back on, hooked up the old speaker and the automatic locks and windows and it all works fine (which means I didn't screw up too much)

HELP PLEASE re: replacing the speakers!
