Exclamation 2003 chevy venture AWD not working

hi guys, i got an issue with my chevy venture. we had it for last winter and the AWD worked perfectly fine, and i also noticed the van would groan around turns (just saying that cause i heard it was a cause to this problem). now this winter when i try to drive only the front wheels will spin and would start sliding, as the front wheels spin the AWD disabled light comes on which is from something overheating and will only go off when it cools off. and the light that comes on doesnt make a whole lot of sense do to the AWD not working anyways. one for um said that the sensor in the center diff is going bad...if anyone could help me please let me know...thanks for looking

Sounds like the solenoid in the rdm. Mine does the same thing.

I replaced the solenoid in mine, and AWD started working again. I did pay the money to get the special GM spec oil when I refilled it. Got my part off amazon, a genuine part even, with all the right stamps and stickers, and look. About $150.00 cheaper than what the dealer wanted for the part. Fluid I could only get at the dealer, $36.00 for a pint IIRC.
