That Dexcool stuff is scary, no?

 

The Dexcool is supposed to be more environmentally friendly.

 

therefore there's no benefit to using dexcool, other then what you mentioned.

ok, putting the green stuff in my Venture after this.

 

I'm used the green prestone "use in any color" antifreeze with my original dex cool in a 2002 j-body. It was only a little bit to top it off. Never had to examine what was going on inside.

Are you doing a complete flush and switch over?

 

The sysytem has been flushed many times. Had to add water after leaky this, leaky that. You can take a look at my thread below this one. I have to believe I washed all the Dexcool right out of my hair. And although I'll have to do a LIM gasket job before very long, I'd rather not chew up any other gasket material w/the Dexcool.

I was thinking of having my coolant passages plated so I could use water all the time (except the dead of winter). So I'll have hot water for tea whenever I need it!
