A/C clutch removal ???
I'm trying to replace the A/C compressor clutch in my 2000 Venture Van.
I have removed the retaining nut on the compressor shaft.
The threads for the removal tool are so caked with rust that I am only able to get the removal too to thread into the clutch about 1/2 way.
When I tighten up on the removal tool I get no movement from the clutch, I am worried about putting too much pressure on the wrench and breaking something.
How much pressure should I expect it to take to get the clutch to come off the shaft?

Well it took just a little more pressure than what I was putting on it. I made sure there were no snap rings or other bolts put a little more pressure on it and it came off.
Also the threads in the clutch plate only go in about 1/2 way!

Can you please confirm that you did this with the compressor still in place on the vehicle? Is there enough room to access it from the wheel well? Where did you buy the replacement clutch? I can only find complete compressor assemblies for my '03 Venture. My clutch is working but pulling 12+ Amps and is blowing the fuse so guessing it has overheated at some point and damaged the coil inside. I can't afford to get a shop to evac, r&r the compressor, and recharge. Will cost more than the van is worth.
