Elm 327 won't connect to ECU
I have a 2004 Chevy Venture to which I've connected an inexpensive Elm 327 OBDII Bluetooth adapter. I've used this successfully with Torque software (and others) on a Toyota Avalon and on other vehicles.
I can connect the device to my Venture and can connect to it with my Android phone. My problem is that it won't connect to the ECU on the Venture. I've selected a number of different Chevy protocols in the software, but none works.
I have used a standalone OBDII scanner successfully to scan codes on this vehicle. My conclusion from that is that the port is functioning properly.
I looked up a compatibility list somewhere about Elm 327 and vehicles and found that someone had success with a 2002 Venture. I'm presuming that this means mine should work, too.
What am I missing here?
