Default front brake caliper bolts, what is the difference between top and bottom bolt?

I'm changing the front brake pads on my 2003 venture and didn't notice a difference between the top and bottom caliper bolts until I started reassembling.

One bolt has a small rubber/plastic tip; the other doesn't.
The rubber/plastic tipped one is round; the other has flats.
They both seem to fit interchangeably.

Anyone know why they are different and which goes on top?

Thanks,
Chris

I found out that the caliper bolt (pin) with the small plastic bushing on the tip should be installed on the bottom of the caliper. The other pin, the one w/the flats, should be installed on the top.

Default caliper bolts

I know this thread is old and you will probably never see this but thanks a million for posting the answer to your own question. I did the same thing (actually replacing the pins because one was sticking). I only have one jack and a couple stands so you just saved me having to try and tear apart the other side to figure out which one goes on the top.
