So, the el cheapo Venture that I just picked up has manual window winders in it. Due to an out-of-adjustment driver's window the teeth were wiped out on the door mechanism just where the window was near the top. I couldn't find a replacement, not a cheap one like a Dorman part anyway, and wasn't going to double the cost of the van by going to get a dealer replacement.

Instead I dismantled the door, got the worn part out and welded up the missing area. Then ground in some new teeth with a thin cut-off wheel and it all works just great. Some adjustments and lots of lube gets me a window that works again!
