random misfires?
Have a 97 venture and after it started to get hot out it started acting weird. i would be driving along then just lose power for a few seconds. slowly got worse. checked codes and had a cylinder 6 misfire. pulled off plug wires and put back on and ran fine for awhile. then it started doing it again and i got the random multiple misfire code. i swapped out the coils with an old set from my brothers van. ran great until i got out of town then it shut off and i coasted to the next parking lot and it would not start and sounded horrible trying to start and had no codes for the first time ever. today i put the old coils back in and it started but still ran really rough. and i got the random multiple misfire code again. any ideas? could it be the module the coils bolt to? or something worse?
I don't know if yours is like mine (2002), but at least one coil is mislabeled. So if you put them back by number on the coils, you've got at least two cylinders out of order. Sorry, don't remember which coil it was that was mismarked...
Are the ignition wires in good shape. All that on and off with old/cheap wires might give you an issue that will only get worse the more you play with them. IMO, start over on the diagnosis, and start with the simple stuff (tune up).
