I found this forum while searching for information about a 2004 Venture that a friend of mine just bought. Hopefully you folks will be able to answer my question.

He is telling me that his doors and trunk will not unlock with the keyless remote. It will unlock with the switches inside only or the key itself.

I checked on various sites for this problem and the best thing I have come up with is that the remote needs to be programmed. Could this really be the problem? If so, why would the remote be unprogrammed?

He doesn't know if the remote ever worked, as he bought it used 2 weeks ago.

First you can check if the battery is good in the remote and maybe it may need to be reprogrammed if there is no problems with the remote itself.
