what is this called and where does it hook up on the back of the engine

I was replacing the solenoid on my IAC valve and I guess I got a little too aggressive with the tube and it popped off the back of the engine and I just can't find where it hooks up and I have no idea what it does the engine still starts I'm hoping posting here will save me a trip to my mechanics to put a simple to back on

part of the pcv system. get a mirror...follow the end of the hose...you will find a port that it pushes onto
