Well, it is not the passkey, but it does start now I put in a new pressure regulator, and not sure if that was the problem. I am leaning towards a bad battery that did not have enough guts to turn the engine and fire the plugs. Put in a new battery and it cranked and started, it has thrown two new codes at me, one is some type of oil switch and the Crank sensor I am leary of the crank sensor as that is brand new and this oil sensor not sure what it does and the fuel pressure is way low. I have parked it in the Pole Building until my son can get his lady friend's car going, Chevy Malibu with electric steer, and his Ford Escape needs new Stabilizer put on and that is done. The Venture is going to sit until the weather warms to 70°F and i can work on it outside as I need to finish my Ford Prefect that was my Dads
Thanks for asking

Which crank sensor did you replace? There are two of them; the 7X crank sensor located on the firewall side of the engine block, and the 24X sensor behind the front engine pulley. I had to do the front one, it made a world of difference.

I replaced the one under the crank pulley I did not know of one on the firewall side and to be very honest I do not think it did any good. The first instance of all of this was when I went to start the car all it would do was crank no run, pushed it into the shop, and checked the ignition, etc it had a spark and it would run on either. My next step was the pressure reg and it would start and run sometimes mostly not run, this is where I got in trouble after reading the book I went down the path of security and always wondered why the security light would not come on, the book showed the stupid light to be in the upper left quadrant of the instrument panel mine is with the battery and door ajar in the lower left. After much fussing and breaking the column bezel I took the key assembly apart next I destroyed a chip on one key and that brought up the security light while the intact key did not. OK the Passkey was not the problem and about the same time the new battery took a header, I would charge up the bat and the car would start and run shut off and it might start or not, bought another bat and the car starts so I am thinking that even though the bat tested OK at 12.5 V when I put the growler on the bat it would instantly drain the bat. With the new bat the car starts and runs ok fuel pressure is low 30psi and I have a money light crank position and some type of oil switch other than the oil pressure. Teh car is going to have to wait till the snow is gone it is up to the bung hole and cold.
