I have a 2018 second gen Volt that I charge off of a standard wall outlet at 8 amps. The j1772 that came with the car is about 10 or 15 feet too short to reach my driveway so I've been parking it closer to the outlet which is just inside my front door. Needless to say over the 3 years I've had it the grass isn't doing too hot where I have to park it.

Is it safe to use a 14 guage outdoor extension cord (grounded) to reach that extra 10/15 feet as long as I stick to the 8 amp charging?
