Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
This is a van that was purpose-built for storm chasing and field research of severe weather. It started out as a used painting van that had been sitting "retired" since 2010 and finally was given a new life in August 2012. Took 2 months JUST to completely recondition the interior (dash, electronics, headliner, etc.) and received brand new seats from a 2010 Express and brand new full carpeting, along with several replacement parts for the interior from donor vans at Pull-A-Part. After that began the modification of the rear which included all of the equipment necessary to the original design plan, with two new seats in the back. On April 27, 2013 at 3AM in the morning it was completed (thank goodness). Has a custom full body wrap with a brand new chrome grille, lights and Hummer wheels. All of the lights are LED's, including all of the interior and dash lights. Even has a touch screen radio.

Wheels/Tires Modifications:
2008 Hummer H2 8-lug wheels tires

Interior/Exterior Modifications:
"Work Van" front clip conversion to LS-style chrome front clip with composite headlights and full size turn signals. Only major modifications to make the conversion possible were some wiring harness modifications and some cut-outs in the fiberglass for the headlights to fit well. Perfect conversion that went very smoothly. Read more ยป

Top of the van showing the MesoDome GoPro camera dome, weather data sampling equipment and radio antennas. The top has a coating of Proliner (yes, the same stuff that goes in truck beds! Good stuff for hail resistance!)
