Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
Original, bought from one owner, four-door, 1979 Chevrolet Caprice Classic. 'Earth-tone' brown, vinyl top, tan interior, original paint with mild surface rust (very good shape for PA car), runs strong, 305ci V8, 2 barrel carb, auto trans, heated rear glass, cruise control, intermittent wipers, and A/C removed.

Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
Engine: none, all new filters: oil, fuel, PCV, air, etc.
Trans: 'Metric' TH200 scrapped and replaced with TH350, rebuilt after swapping tail shafts (short tail).
Rear-end: stock (need to change oil someday!).
Exhaust: Y-pipe to single pipe to dual exhaust tips.
Also: External transmission cooler.

Suspension Modifications:
Front: new shocks.
Rear: new shocks and heavy-duty springs which give the rear approximately 1"-2" lift.
Frame: Class-four receiver tow hitch.

Wheels/Tires Modifications:
Tires: Really old (at least 15 to 20 years old) Goodyear 225/75R15 that came with the car since I bought it, still have decent tread left even though sidewalls are getting dry-rotted and a pair of snow tires for the rear during winter.
Original steel wheels and all four original hubcaps.

Interior/Exterior Modifications:
Exterior: none.
Interior: none other than cup-holder on transmission hump, carpet dash cover, steering wheel cover, and front seat cover.
Radio: replaced with Pioneer CD/Mp3 player, Sony Xplod 6"x9" speakers (rear only), amplifier, and a pair of 12" speakers in the trunk.

Future Modifications:
Engine:Mild not wild small block, good balance of torque, horsepower, fuel economy, and long, reliable engine life: just about anything is better than the tired, 145hp factory 305ci.
Trans: none really, TH350 was rebuilt (by myself!!) recently so it should be just fine for a while.
Rear: not sure, maybe limited-slip, different gears...
Tires/Rims: definitely replacing but haven't decided on what combination yet, nothing silly, crazy, or impractical like 26's; I tow things with this car.
Interior: I'd love to replace everything on the inside but can not locate replacement anything: i.e.- dash, instrument cluster, trim, etc. but there are replacement carpets, dash covers, etc. available. Read more ยป
