Rough ground clearance to this frame cross-brace (toward the front of the car) is 4.5 in.
A "Captiva Specs Features Price" web listing for 2013 says ground clearance is 176 mm, that is, 7 in.
I don't buy the 7 in. number at all.

Mechanic said the brake dragging could have come from rusty bracket which compressed the flexible brake line. I have not cut open the line to examine it
