The New Bumblebee Camaro is Certainly Different

Air vents, and hood scoops, and spoilers, oh my! The new Bumblebee Chevrolet Camaro is here, and it’s more specialized than ever.

When the Transformers movie series debuted with Michael Bay, Shia LaBeouf, and Megan Fox, there was a massive build up and huge expectations. And General Motors took full advantage of that hype, featuring a slew of cars from the stable and highlighted by the recently debuted Chevrolet Camaro. Back then, though, it was mainly a racing stripes package for a black and yellow car. There weren’t really any major changes to the body of the car itself. But as the series has progressed, so has the treatment for the car.

Gearing up to release the fifth installment of the franchise, Transformers: The Last Knight, Michael Bay just released the first image of the brand new Bumblebee Chevrolet Camaro, and it looks quite a bit different from the base car that customers can buy, largely in part to lots of more aggressive aero bits.

The car has a reworked front fascia, more air scoops and vents, it has splitters, it has a new wing, it has sleeker mirrors, it has a blacked out front grille bar, side skirts, blacked out rims, and Transformers badging. Still, even with all the changes, the main go-to look is that it’s black and yellow. The Bumblebee lives. The new film comes out June 23, 2017, and Bumblebee will reportedly be getting its own spin-off movie in the future.

Also, kind of hilarious that Bay @ed the wrong General Motors in the tweet. The real GM account is simply @GM.
