Default 2004 maxx steering gear replaced

upon replacing the steering gear ,started the car and have a new problem service airbag? And my question is how to clear it ? already tried to diconnect battery didn't work.. Help

I would suspect that the clock spring is broken, When you install the rack you must make sure the wheels are straight forward before disconnecting the steering coupler. When the coupler is off then steering wheel must not turn much or you will lose center on the clock spring. When you put the new rack in you must center it before connecting it or the steering wheel will turn more time to one side then the other breaking the clock spring.

Hope you tied steering wheel to the seat frame with a a length of rope, I did and no light.
You must have broke the clock spring as the other poster stated.
