My Alternator is making a funny noise, it sounds like air leaving a tire. Can anyone help.

Change the alternator if you are sure the noise is coming from it. Probably a bad bearing.

Default This may help.

Head to a local part store and get the alternator tested. Autozone , Advance, they can do a charging test while it is in the car and its free. There is no air that can come from an alternator no vacuum lines. Did you check the vacuum lines. Also what motor is in yours is it the ecotec or no.

If it is safe and you have a brain, and are not wearing a tie around your neck - you can put a screwdriver on it (preferably a long one), and put the handle in your ear.

Or safer yet - get a auto stethoscope.
