Default Neutral Safety Switch

Help! Not sure where to begin. Came back after 5 months working in Alaska and my 2004 Tahoe, which did sit the entire time, would not start. Obviously the battery was checked and charged first with no avail. From what I have read, I am leaning towards the neutral safety switch but am not sure and have no idea how to test. Oddities that I have noticed are that the dash board does not indicate what gear I am in, my code reader will not connect to the computer. The truck does not even attempt to turn over. Not sure where to go from here and any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

With key on, can you (also brake depressed) shift in to any gear other than park? Five months in Alaska, wow!

Welcome to the forum.

Do you have dome lites, cigar liter voltage, etc?

Looks as though I have all electronics with the exception of the digital "gear " indicator.
The line that specifies whether you are in "park" or " neutral" etc, is not showing.

Ok, so I have verified that it is not the neutral safety switch. Where I am now at is that the starter relay is not getting the signal to close and neither is the fuel pump relay getting the signal to close. When I jumped both of these out, the engine turns over but I'm guessing what ever is holding them out, also kills my spark.....any thoughts?
