Default neutral safety switch

HI,Has anyone had any experience with the neutral safety switch that is supposed to be under the gear shift in a s10 Sonoma 5 spd.
I heard about this today and may be why we are experiencing with shutting down when ever it wants to,its supposed to be a mildly difficult fix, thank you

Well we took gear shift lever out and there was no wiring under it so that's one less
problem to worry about I cheated and hooked up DDV to wires coming to pump and showed I had 12.87 volts in incoming wire.
Next will pull pump and see if wiring on it is bad.

the neutral safety switch is part of the starting circuit. it will only inhibit the starter from cranking. it will not cause an already running truck to intermittently shut down as you have described.

bypass or jumper the switch

or
disconnect the switch connector and ohm check the switch. open with clutch released, closed with clutch engaged.
